Dr. Bordley has worked at General Motors, the National Science Foundation and Booz-Allen Hamilton. At General Motors, he was a Technical Fellow in its Engineering and Research division as well as Technical Director in Corporate Strategy and Marketing. At the National Science Foundation, Bob was director of its Decision, Risk and Management Sciences program. At Booz-Allen Hamilton, he has been involved in the systems engineering of army vehicles, communication systems and infrastructure.

Bob was named a Fellow of the Institute of Operations Research and Management Science, the American Statistical Association and the Society of Decision Professionals. Bob has published more than eighty papers in leading operations research journals (Operations Research, Management Science, Decision Analysis, European Journal of Operations Research, Marketing Science) and leading statistics journals (American Statistician, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Review of Economics and Statistics). He holds a Ph.D. (and MS) in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (along with an MBA) from the University of California, Berkeley. He also holds an MS in Systems Science, BS in Physics and BA in Policy Science from Michigan State University.

Bob is certified as an Expert Systems Engineering Professional, a Project Management Professional and a Professional Statistician and is also a Certified Analytics Professional. He has been certified in root-cause analysis as a General Motors `Red X engineer. He has taught the decision analysis class at the University of Michigan for more than ten years.
