Integrative Systems + Design (ISD) is proud to announce its 2016 Michigan Engineering Alumni Award winner, Dr. Anna-Maria McGowan.
The Michigan Engineering Alumni Award is presented annually to accomplished Michigan Engineers who exemplify inventive leadership, smart risk taking, and broad impact. She is a graduate of the Design Science Doctoral Program and currently works at NASA as the Technical Fellow for Complex Systems Design. Dr. McGowan also currently serves on ISD’s External Advisory Board.
On Friday, October 21, Dr. McGowan will present a lecture at a department lunch as part of Michigan Engineering’s Homecoming celebration and the Design Science Speaker Series. Dr. McGowan’s talk, titled “Drivers for Interdisciplinary Research: Designing Exceptional Systems,” addresses the need for rigorous collaboration across disciplines in today’s society.
Her talk will take place in the Michigan League’s Vandenburg Room from 12:00-1:30pm. The event is open to ISD and Design Science alumni, faculty, and current students. ISD alumni interested in attending the department lunch are encouraged to register through the College of Engineering.
Join us in congratulating Dr. McGowan on her exceptional accomplishments!
