A. Harvey Bell IV is a professor and engineering executive with broad experience bringing complex, technically sophisticated, high volume products to production. He is a Professor of Engineering Practice and Co-Director of the Multidisciplinary Design Program at the University of Michigan. In addition, he serves as a member of the Sustainability Future Advisory Board at Michigan Tech. 

Professor Bell has 39 years of experience working in the automotive industry, primarily with General Motors. He served a variety of roles with GM, including Executive Director of Advanced Vehicle Development North America, Executive Director of Vehicle Performance, and Engineering Director of Vehicle Performance. Most notably, Professor Bell managed the integration of the Design for Six Sigma methodology into GM company culture. Professor Bell earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and completed his graduate studies at the University of Michigan and the University of Pennsylvania.
