Unsung Hero: Samy Ali-Khodja Wins CoE Staff Incentive Award

Samy Ali-Khodja, IT Applications Specialist and Systems Administrator for Integrative Systems + Design and Nexus, earned the College of Engineering Staff Incentive Award. 

The award is given to those who consistently demonstrate the College’s vision, mission, and values with a monetary award.

Before joining ISD in May 2018, Ali-Khodja earned a master’s degree in MSIS Information Systems from Eastern Michigan University and an associate’s degree in Computer Networking from Washtenaw Community College. As a volunteer, he is currently President of the Board of Directors at Global Tech Academy, an EMU charter school, and a member of the Board of Trustees at the Arab American Cultural Center.

“Work for your worldly life as if you will live forever, and for the hereafter as if you will die tomorrow,” he said. 

Ali-Khodja’s story stands as a testament to hard work, perseverance, and the power of unseen heroes in the academic world. His contributions might not always be in the spotlight, but they keep the University of Michigan’s ISD running smoothly, inspiring many others within the university community.
